2. We connect you with a local company

   Calls and requests go to an independent chimney sweep or masonry contractor that serves Duluth and the Twin Ports.

3. The company handles the job

   They quote, schedule and do the work. Pricing, warranties and terms come from them directly.

What we are and aren't

Duluth Chimney Repair is a referral service, not a contractor. We don't send crews or employ technicians, and we don't set prices. Using the site is free for homeowners.

Minnesota requires a residential building contractor or remodeler license from the Department of Labor and Industry for contractors who sell homeowners work in more than one special skill. A company that does only masonry can be exempt, so ask which applies, and look up any license number on the DLI website. Only licensed contractors are covered by the state Contractor Recovery Fund. In Wisconsin, a contractor pulling a permit on a one- or two-family home needs Dwelling Contractor credentials. Ask whether the sweep is CSIA-certified, who will pull any permit, and for a written contract.
