Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the right local company gets your request
- What you're seeing: loose brick, a leak, a cracked crown, smoke in the room, or just a yearly inspection
- What the chimney serves: fireplace, wood or pellet stove, furnace, boiler or water heater
- Roughly how old the house is and when the chimney was last inspected, if you know
- If you're buying or selling, your inspection deadline
